2023 PGA Junior League Program

We are pleased to announce that the Steve Bosdosh Golf Academy at PB Dye Golf Club will be hosting a PGA Junior League Spring Season for 17U & 13U. This program is for players that have demonstrated a passion for golf. Our goals are to grow love for golf, to learn the skills, and to discover together what is possible. In safe and inspiring place for junior golfers to develop their game, we emphasis the importance of relationships and character development. Golf is an excellent vehicle, and it can be a very exciting ride.

Overview:

This is the best place for juniors to learn golf. We have several different categories to best suit your player. Our 13U and 17U divisions all have categories from Competitive to Brand New. Players will be group according to age and ability for the best experience.  All levels of the 13U and 17U programs offer matches and weekly practices. Higher level programs offer more matches. The Program Directors will place players in the appropriate level. Please email or call with details prior to registration if the SBGA is unfamiliar with your junior golfer.

As part of our community, we encourage all junior golfers to come practice and expect to run into teammates and friends outside of official team practice hours. It is the team’s commitment that makes it special. The PGA Junior League is the best program to get beginners into golf, put pressure on experienced players, and build friendships in a team atmosphere around the game of golf.

We specialize in starting players off with the right fundamentals, and developing competitive players for high school, college, and tournament golf.

13U & 17U Program Levels:

13U-

The 13U program is for players that have demonstrated a passion for the game. There are 2 levels in the 13U program. Appropriate ages are recommended. The PGA Professional will place players in correct class.

1.      Class-A (11-13 years old)– Players regularly break 50 and are averaging mid to low 40s or better. Tournament experience is recommended. All-Star Post-Season time commitment is potentially requested.

2.      Class-B (9-13 years old)– Players have moderate to minimal experience and have played several rounds. Continuous development of the necessary fundamentals and scoring strategies are the focus.

New Journey (All Ages)– For players just starting out. We recommend booking a private or family lesson with one of our coaches. Once familiarized and comfortable, the beginner program will be the next step. We recommend 2-4 sessions, so players get the attention they need at the most important time, the start. 17U-  

The 17U program focuses specialization of the game while always welcoming new players. There are 2 levels in the 13U program:

1.     Class-A – Players are on their high school golf team and/or shoot around 80 or better on average. They have extensive time commitment, played individual tournaments, and have some level of interest in college or professional golf. Players are willing to dedicate 4-6+ hours a week to training and playing. In addition, 17U Competitive will commit 1-hour of mentorship a week. Players are encouraged to play holes frequently in the evenings on non-practice days.

2.     Class-B – Players likely have been a part of the 13U program of have been playing for several seasons. They love the game of golf and are looking to continue improving with golf goals in mind.

Schedule & Pricing:

The Spring Season will run from April 17^th – June 11^th. Matches might run later into June depending on course availability. Practices will be during weeknights and matches will be either on weeknight or weekends. Official Match and Practice dates are TBD. Please note the schedule is subject to change based on number of registrations. All programs offer 4-6 weekday/weekend matches or rounds.

A $99 PGA Junior League Registration Fee Required for Class-A & Class-B Programs. The Registration Fee provides apparel and the ability to compete in official PGA Jr League Matches including the All-Star Season.

PB Dye Junior Members receive $50 off Coaching Fee.  PB Dye Jr Memberships offer the ability play unlimited weekday evenings and weekend afternoons. Discounts on Junior Memberships Available for PGA Jr League Players.

The Following Program Fees are in addition to any registration fee and are to be paid directly to the Steve Bosdosh Golf Academy.

17U Class-A ($400) – Thursdays from 4-5pm. 13U Mentorship coaching required (1 hr./week) outside of practice times. Players are encouraged to have Junior Membership to access the practice facility and golf course outside of practice times. Limited Spots Available and Tryouts maybe required based on registration.

17U Class-B ($400) – Monday 4-5pm. Players are encouraged to have Junior Membership and access the practice facility and course outside of practice times.

13U Class-A & Class-B ($400) – Practices are on Mondays from 5-6pm and Thursdays from 5:30-6:30pm. Players are encouraged to have Junior Membership to access the practice facility and golf course outside of practice times. Limited Spots Available and Tryouts maybe required based on registration.

INDEPENDENT PRACTICE will be on Friday evenings from 5-7pm. This practice is an opportunity for friends and family to share the love of the game without a coach telling them what to do the whole time. Players need both supervised and unstructured practice for optimum learning. Player will have to pay for their own practice balls by purchasing buckets in the Pro Shop or by becoming a junior member.

PB Dye Junior Membership: $1200/year for unlimited practice facility use and range balls and unlimited course access after 12pm 7 days a week with tee time. Please call the PB Dye Golf Shop for more details at 301.607.4653.

Payment:

Payment for the categorized program will be paid directly to the Steve Bosdosh Golf Academy Staff via credit card, Venmo, cash, or check. Coaching and facility fees are in addition to PGA JL registration fee ($99).

Individual Lessons:

PGA Junior League Players have the option to purchase private lessons with Coach Matt Schneider, PGA at a discounted rate of $125/hour through the season. A minimum of 3 hours of lesson commitment is recommended to build on skills. Players can use the lengthy team practices to work on drills specific to their swing evolution.
